P.P.Associates provide Engineering services for Sand washing system. Sand (Silica) basically required in Glass preparation is required to be washed for removing fines, impurities and excess iron (Fe2O3) content and some times dried .

The scheme involves Sand received in trucks is unloaded by means of Hydraulic truck Un- Loader(HTU) or any suitable means, Surface feeder with bag filter may also be used. There are various methods of unloading however, sand being very dusty proper de-dusting system is required. Sand is then washed in screw classifier or bucket wheel classifier . Washed sand is conveyed on high inclined belt conveyor to drain out water . It is kept open to dry or can be dried in a double drum rotary dryer. Sand is then Screened and stored in a storage silo .
